Refund Policy for Individual Pro, Essential, or Unlimited Software Plans
Refund Provisions – Except as otherwise stated herein, Advanced Tax Solutions LLC (“Company”) will provide a full refund up to 14 days after purchase for any initial purchase of a Software Plan (one of the Individual Pro, Essential, or Unlimited Software Plans) if it has not been used professionally (i.e. the bank enrollment, watermark-free printing, and/or e-file features have not been utilized). No refunds will be provided if they were not requested within 14 days of purchase. Refunds are never granted for Software Plan renewals or any additional services. A valid EFIN (Electronic Filing Identification Number) is required to use MyTAXPrepOffice (“Software”). The Company does not provide EFINs. No refunds will be provided for those who purchase a Software Plan (“you” or “your”) but do not have a valid EFIN.
State Approval – Each year, the Department of Revenue (DOR) in each state must approve the forms used in the Software. In order to cover the theoretical case that the Software’s forms are not approved by the DOR in the state in which you reside (or if approval is delayed for an unacceptable time period), a full refund will be provided for such a case upon request. A partial refund may be provided upon request if you regularly file returns for a state that has not approved usage of the forms in the Software (or if approval is delayed for an unacceptable time period). No refund request time limits will apply to refunds requested due to a lack of DOR approval.
Refund Process – All refund requests must be made in writing. The request can be sent via email (to ) or via the postal service. If you send the request via postal service, please include: Name, Company Name, Customer Number, Telephone Number, Address, and reason for the request. Please be aware that your letter must be postmarked and received within 14 days of purchase. After receiving a refund request, four to eight weeks are needed for processing.
